Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has strengthened Leone Stars’ technical setup with the appointment of Alhaji Foray as Assistant Coach I and Mohamed Lamin Kamara as Assistant Coach II ahead of the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Approved by SLFA’s Executive Committee, the appointments form part of broader efforts to reinforce the national team’s backroom staff as preparations gather momentum for the qualification campaign. Joining them is Jose Miguel Salomon Cortes, who has been named Video Analyst.
Foray and Kamara will work alongside recently appointed Head Coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa, bringing added technical expertise and coaching support to a side preparing to compete against some of Africa’s strongest football nations.
From a technical perspective, these appointments reflect a deliberate effort to build a more specialised and well-balanced coaching structure. Assistant coaches play a key role in tactical planning, player development, training sessions, and match-day decision-making. Meanwhile, a dedicated video analyst provides detailed assessments of opponents, evaluates team performances, and delivers data-driven insights that have become an essential part of modern football.
Reckonably, a strengthened technical bench is expected to improve coordination, tactical preparation, and overall efficiency as Leone Stars intensify preparations for the demanding AFCON qualifiers.
Announcing the appointments, SLFA’s Executive Committee expressed confidence in the experience and competence of the new officials, noting that their inclusion demonstrates the Association’s commitment to building a professional technical structure capable of guiding Leone Stars to greater success.
