President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has officially received the symbolic key to the newly completed Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre and ECOWAS Logistics Depot, marking the formal handover of one of Sierra Leone’s newest landmark infrastructure projects.
The symbolic key was presented by Fatih Bora, President and Chief Executive Officer of the FB Group, a Turkish international investment and construction company known for delivering major infrastructure projects, including airports, hotels, conference facilities, and government buildings across Africa and Eastern Europe.
The handover signifies the successful completion and commissioning of the facility, which is expected to strengthen Sierra Leone’s ability to host high-level regional, continental, and international meetings.
The conference centre arrives at a time when Sierra Leone continues to play a more active role in regional affairs, including hosting important ECOWAS engagements. Officials say the facility will serve as a strategic venue for diplomatic conferences, investment forums, government events, and regional summits.

Beyond its conference capabilities, the inclusion of the ECOWAS Logistics Depot is also seen as a step toward enhancing regional coordination, preparedness, and cooperation among member states.
The project represents a significant addition to the country’s infrastructure portfolio and reflects broader efforts to position Sierra Leone as a destination for international conferences, diplomacy, and regional dialogue.
The handover ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter for the facility, which now stands as one of the country’s most prominent symbols of modern infrastructure and regional engagement.
